THE FUREY FILM
Pastor Joe Furey and his wife Therese navigate the pain of loss while continuing to break new ground in the trenches of addiction and recovery, remaining together as a family, and using their faith and a sense of humor to heal.
Film Synopsis:
Joe Furey has not led what anyone would call a very average life. It’s been filled with tremendous highs and unthinkable lows, and what’s been left in the balance is a man with extraordinary wisdom and compassion for those around him. Joe and his wife, Therese, have insights into things that few people do. The kind of things that are just theory, until you have to walk through them, and yet they have come out the other side together and are willing to help others navigate the same waters.
The Furey family has seen the worst humanity has to offer, and yet, instead of growing bitter, they have been a blessing to so many. It’s not that they don’t feel the wounds or the deep sadness that comes with them; it’s just that they carry a transparency to their journey. They know that God is still God, and that they will see their 2 kids again, and in the meantime, they want to be the best parents they can for their daughter, Bridget, and their grandkids. To steer the ship well for the church entrusted to them and help whoever should walk in those doors. Their story is one of heartbreak, triumph, and authenticity that is sure to move and impact anyone who hears it.
